Titah Kenikeni is back with a twist for Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month 2021✨
Although I was raised in a primarily Hawaiian, local household, and brought up in that culture, I’m a very proud Chinese, Japanese, and Filipino Kanaka. To express my aloha for my heritage, I created a lil piece that fuses elements from the poʻe Kina’s (Chinese) traditional hanfu wear and a touch of modern day “titah,” the pāpale lauhala pā ʻole (no top), the pua in the hair, and a titah bun!
